I‘m a 58-year-old IT professional at a Northern California community college. My passions are traveling, baseball, writing and genealogy. I have recently made some genealogy discoveries that I hope to share on my blog soon.
I am an avid San Francisco Giants fan and attend numerous games a year. I also have a goal to see at least one baseball game in all 30 Major League stadiums. I have seen a game in 22 of the 30, but with the opening this season of Sun Trust Stadium in Atlanta, I will need to visit Atlanta again.
I also enjoy jogging and riding my bicycle.

Hello Lois, I was excited to read your blog on Ireland. It’s possible that we might be related as my great grandmother is an O’Rourke from County Down (her father is a Francis Joseph O’Rourke from Clonallan, his father is John O’Rourke from Kilkeel). My parents both grew up in Northern CA. I don’t know if it’s the same people but it’s possible that your John O’Rourke is related? I would love any info you could offer. I will be visiting Ireland at the end of June, mostly just for fun but I will be stopping in County Down. Thanks for any info.
Hello Elisa, It’s possible we are related but there were quite a few O’Rourke families in the area in the 19th century. Clonallan is close to where my family lived, so it’s possible they were cousins or something but it is a different parish. John O’Rourke was my great grandfather so your John O’Rourke is not the same person. Have fun on your trip and if want some travel tips for County Down or Ireland in general, let me know.
